This year marks the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Ventana Chapter. I
have heard many stories regarding the early days.
Were you there when members gathered in Ansel Adams livingroom to set
the process in motion?
Do you have photos of locals on outings from years ago?
How about a story or two about a conservation victory from the early days?
Did a Chapter member really sit down in front of a bulldozer to save a wetland?
The next issue of The Ventana will publish the best of what you send us about
the early days of the Chapter. Please send your reminiscences and snapshots to
the editor by May 15. Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope if you
send photos.
The younger and newer members of the Chapter will gain a better perspective of
how far we have come, what we have gained, and what we have lost, by learning
about the Chapter history.
