Coordinate with the for publishing the above information on our web site 2. Keep track of the voting record of all officials on key issues 3. Analyze political map for potential risks and opportunities in the next two elections 4. Coordinate meetings between elected officials and the Conservation Committees 1. The purpose of the meetings is to influence our public officials to accept the Sierra Club adopted position on a particular issue and / or to explore that officials stand on the issue. 2. Insure that the key activist(s) who are most knowledgeable about this issue are able to attend the meeting. 5. Campaigns and voter education 1. Develop criteria and questions for candidates and rate responses. 2. Make plans to get members involved in campaigning for endorsed candidates. 3. Work to register non-registered members. 6. Coordinate with chapter, adjacent chapters, state and national political committees. 7. Create sub-committees or focus groups for each of the following areas: > Watsonville city and district 4 supervisor > Santa Cruz city and districts 1 and 3 supervisors > Mid-County: Capitola city and district 2 supervisor > Mountains: Scotts Valley city and district 5 supervisor [ top of page ] |
